WOOLTEXPRO, established under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, is dedicated to promoting exports of wool, woollen products, wool blends, woollen garments, carpets, blankets, shawls, knitwear and other value-added wool products from India to global markets.
The Indian wool and woollen industry has a rich heritage, skilled craftsmanship, and a strong manufacturing base that enables it to meet the evolving requirements of international buyers. Our Council serves as a vital link between exporters, manufacturers, government agencies, trade bodies, and overseas buyers, facilitating growth and competitiveness in the global marketplace.

Wool Industry Export Promotion Council (WOOLTEXPRO) as the Export Promotion Council for shoddy and woollen yarn, fabrics and blankets, wool tops, wool hair belting, felt, machine-made carpets, and woven shawls, scarves and stoles as per letter ref 17/10/99-W&WT dated 20/26 June 2002 and July 10, 2002 and Secretary Textiles D O Letter dated 19th September 2002.
WOOLTEXPRO serves as a vital interface between the Government, exporters, manufacturers, importers, and international buyers. The Council works towards enhancing the global competitiveness of the Indian wool industry by facilitating market access, organizing participation in international trade fairs and exhibitions, conducting buyer-seller meets, disseminating trade information, and representing industry concerns before Government authorities.
The Council's product coverage includes raw wool, wool tops, yarns, fabrics, blankets, carpets, shawls, knitwear, ready-made garments, and other value-added wool products. Through its various export promotion initiatives, WOOLTEXPRO aims to expand India's presence in international markets and contribute to the sustainable growth of the wool sector.
